Let's Swing It! - "In the Mood." Swing, syncopation & fun are 3 top describers for this jiving song from the 30's! An arrangement with rhythmic hammer patterns, a few 'bluesy" patterns and areas in the music for changing it up (varying the melody line) as we progress from the jazzy intro-to the end.

First "Strings" First - Within this class we will touch on the important "First" considerations when learning the Hammered Dulcimer-hammer hold, getting a good "bounce"-hammer patterns, developing muscle memory-markers, patterns (and more) all while learning a tune-or 3!

Fun Songs and Phrases that Teach Your Hands Muscle Memory! - Hand exercise to gain small muscle memory is an important part of ANY musician's learning and practicing. In this class we'll PULL segments (musical phrases) directly out of well loved "Jam Tunes"- to utilize these phrases as exercises for your hands! So... you'll be conditioning/training your hands with specific hand coordination exercise- AND learning parts of certain tunes! (Complete sheet music of 3 tunes from which segments will be used, will be provided, including my unique Hammered Dulcimer TAB.)

Beginner "Jam Tunes" - Here are 2 old timey tunes that you will come upon at many jam sessions! "Old Joe Clark" and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" will be our learning focus during this session. Come and learn how to hammer out these classics, and if time allows, learn how to put a little pizazz to them (just a touch). My TAB for hammered dulcimer will be included!

Hammered Hymns II - "Fairest Lord Jesus" A beautiful, old, majestic hymn from the 1600's! In this arrangement we will learn/use rolled chords, chord embellishments, doubles (harmony), and just a hint of droning. Learning embellishments within the song structure AND in 2 keys- on the Hammered Dulcimer!
