Friday 8:45-10:00 Session 1M Steel Drum Absolute Beginner and above.

“Steel Drum Magic” -Grab a “Jumbie Jam” steel drum and be on your way to becoming a steel drum player! We’ll cover all the basics. Learn a few tunes and have fun jamming to the sounds of the islands. Steel Drums available for purchase at a great “Festival Price”! We’ll have a few loaners available at the class to try before you buy.  

 

Friday 10:15-11:30 Session 2M Steel Drum

““Calypso CRUISE” Magic for Steel Drum!” -Let’s take a trip to the islands as we learn and play some fun ‘cruise-worthy’ tunes to sing, dance, and play like they do on the islands! We’ll learn melodies, harmonies, how to back up singers or other instruments for several cruise-classic tunes!

**Let your Ukulele and/or Penny Whistle buddies know they can join us at 11 a.m., play their parts for a real Cruise Band Experience! Uke and PW tab will be included! “Cruise Wear” is encouraged but optional!

 

Friday 2:30-3:45 Session 4P Penny Whistle Beginner

“Take It from the Top!” -Learn to play this fun and easy to carry instrument and be playing in 2 keys! Refresh your skills if it’s been a while or if you just want to warm up for the weekend! A “D” whistle is all that is needed for this workshop. I’ll have some for sale before the class at our vending table.

 

Friday 4:15-5:15 Session 5P Penny Whistle with Ukulele

“Plays Well with Others” Part 1 -Cruise Magic (Intermediate level for Penny Whistle) -Penny Whistle and Ukuleles join together to have fun learning and playing some great ‘cruise-worthy’ tunes; fun to play, sing, and dance! We’ll take turns playing melody, harmony, and back-up and create arrangements you can take with you to play with your group! All tunes will be in dulcimer friendly keys. “D” whistle needed for this workshop!

 

Saturday 10:15-11:30 Session 7K Hammered Dulcimer Intermediate

“Daydream Believer” -The Number 1 hit song of 1967, this iconic tune is fast and fun to play! Conquer this great arrangement and take away some added tips and technique ideas in the process!


Saturday 1:00-2:15 Session 8P Penny Whistle Intermediate

“Irish Duets” –“Star of County Down” & “Foggy Dew” will be featured with melody and harmony parts, along with practice tips and some embellishment ideas. Bring your penny whistle buddy and join us for some fun!

 

Saturday 2:30-3:45 Session 9J Hammered Dulcimer Beginner

“Have Fun in the Beginning!” -New to the Hammered Dulcimer? Bring it to this class and find your way around the dulcimer as we learn a few fun and easy tunes to play. We’ll find easy chords and melodies, hammering techniques, and practice ideas. We will take it slow and give you lots of playing time so you can go home with new “stuff” to play and practice!

 

Saturday 4:15-5:15 Session 10P Penny Whistle with Ukulele

“Plays Well with Others” Part 2 –“Irish and Jam Tunes” (Intermediate level for Penny Whistle) -St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, but there’s still time to learn and play and we’ll add ukuleles for back-up and a few melodies! Join us for some Irish Fun!
